6pp introductory text + 45 plates; This is a collection of 45 b/w photos from La Certosa Di Pavia, a monastery on the outskirts of Milan. It was built starting in 1396 as a funeral chapel for the family. The monastery was completed in 1452, and the church in 1473. More enhancements were made in the sixteenth century; The 6 page introductory text is entirely in Italian, is yellowed and lightly foxed; The plates themselves are on heavy paper similar to cardstock, and are in very good condition. Some do have some edgewear and creased corners. All are yellowed, and some have minor foxing, but are actually in very good condition...especially the plates themselves; The stiff slipcase is in very poor condition, with a detached cover, heavy wear, and even some silver tape around the edges; Additional shipping charges may apply; Size: Folio - over 12" - 15" tall.
